Also known as "The Marriage Oak" or the "Matrimonial Oak" is located on China Creek road in San Saba near the Beveridge Suspension Bridge which has been replaced with a new bridge. Beveridge Bridge is still present to the East of the new bridge.
There doesn't seem to be much that is amazing about the tree except that it is very large and offers alot of shade both to the road and to the field beside it.
I wonder if because the tree was close to water it drew so much attention in the early days? I mean -- "Cool off after the closing the big deal" or is it "Don't let them see you sweating?"
